Res-CREATIONs

"Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it, you can never get it back." - Harvey MacKay
Imagine the gift of time! Time to relax, relate, release and renew. Through T.G.I Res-CREATIONs, busy parents such as yourself are afforded a much deserved respite - interval of rest - while your child and/or children participates with their peers in a dynamic, wholesome, fun-filled array of thematic respite events.

We are excited at the prospect of pioneering this innovative, enhanced respite care model to the residents of Prince George's County Maryland and it's surrounding jurisdictions. Equally, we are pleased to announce that the program boasts a variety of options for service delivery that each share in a single point of entry.

Program options are offered on a monthly basis. Please see below:

FUN d' mental Fridays! - This option offers gender-specific outings, mentoring and character development opportunities for tweens/teens with special needs, their siblings and typically developing peers. This is a delicate time period when children begin their transition into becoming young adults. We hope to provide guidance and encouragement via events that are strategically designed to meet the varied needs of this particular subgroup, with a focus on development of interpersonal skills, self-reliance, self-esteem, and self-determination.

Satur - DAY/NITE - Live! - This option offers an opportunity for thematic fun, recreation, and entertainment in four hour increments, on Saturday afternoons and evenings (12pm to 4pm) and (6pm to 10pm).

The DAY option is reserved for children with special needs, their siblings and typically developing peers up to 12 years of age.  While the NITE option is reserved for youth (ages 13-17).

Each monthly event will boast an exciting new theme to keep participants excited and engaged. And more importantly for the parents, it is guaranteed to provide an opportunity for youth to build meaningful connections, increase knowledge of acceptable social behaviors and support positive character development.

Salvation Sunday! - This program option winds down the weekend and promotes a soothing, tranquil atmosphere whereby the spiritual needs of the entire family unit can be met as a whole. It’s overarching purpose is to embrace diversity, ignite divine inspiration and awaken spiritual understanding in “all” persons via provision of a barrier-free environment that accepts, includes, receives the gifts of and responds appropriately to the needs of “all” whom desire a more inclusive worship experience.
